Checking Phoenix Clinical Eligibility in Delaware

Full Practice is favorable to licensed NP authority, but it does not decide whether an online program satisfies Delaware education requirements. AANP uses the category for states where qualified NPs may evaluate, diagnose, order and interpret tests, and initiate and manage treatment under the nursing board's exclusive licensure authority.

University of Phoenix publishes a narrower state list for its online FNP and PMH programs, and Delaware is not on either list. Before identifying a Wilmington practice or Dover clinician, ask the University to confirm the student's catalog, program, residence, licensure goal, and proposed Delaware clinical location in writing.

The Delaware Board of Nursing provides official licensing and regulatory information. If a clinical plan is authorized, use its records to confirm the proposed preceptor's license, advanced practice credential, legal name, and public status. Do not rely only on a clinic bio or an old directory entry.

Phoenix must still approve the academic relationship. The organization needs the correct patient population, supervision, privacy, staffing, and agreement. The clinician must meet program qualifications and be available for the proposed schedule. Board status cannot replace University site and preceptor approval.

The MSN/FNP carries at least 600 supervised hours: four 45-hour population courses and a 420-hour final preceptorship. At least 500 hours must be primary care. The MSN/PMH also carries at least 600 hours, divided among three 60-hour courses and a 420-hour course, with psychotherapy and age-group minimums.

Both NP pathways require a five-day in-person residency in Phoenix, Arizona, near the end of NRP/571. State these details when asking whether a Delaware exception or a different enrolled version applies. A broad response about online coursework should not be interpreted as permission to complete Delaware clinical hours.

Phoenix RN-to-BSN students need 90 on-site direct-care hours in community and public-health settings, divided into two 45-hour courses. Acute-care work and ordinary paid duties do not satisfy that requirement. Wilmington, Newark, Dover, Middletown, and Sussex County organizations may be considered only after current Delaware program availability is verified.

For the DNP, a student works toward at least 1,000 total practice hours and develops an Applied Project. University-approved prior hours can reduce the remaining amount. The learner selects a practice site and External Consultant, with oversight from a Project Chair. Non-NP MSN practicum details vary by version, so the academic plan must be reviewed.

University of Phoenix asks students to engage in the search while providing coordinator support. Students can suggest professional contacts or a workplace. The coordinator assists in securing and approving sites and preceptors, manages agreements, and follows up as the course approaches. An unresolved placement can move into a coordinator and Program Chair process, but timing is not promised.

For an authorized Delaware plan, submit a lead before dates are committed. Typhon is used to approve the site and preceptor and collect relevant time logs, case logs, and evaluations. The required agreement and compliance work must be complete before the first activity. Hours completed early can be excluded.

The FNP and PMH programs each permit up to 100 telehealth hours under specific rules, but the student must be physically co-located with the preceptor. The RN-to-BSN permits no more than four direct telehealth hours. These are limited encounter formats within approved placements, not fully remote alternatives.

Because Delaware is not currently listed for the Phoenix NP pathways, the 100-hour rule cannot be used to create eligibility. If the University authorizes another Delaware field experience, we can assess an in-person organization or a telehealth-capable site within the course limits. Written University approval remains central.

Delaware's size can make statewide searching seem simple, but the north and south have distinct provider patterns. Wilmington and Newark may suit a New Castle County plan. Dover and Smyrna can anchor central Delaware. Milford, Lewes, Georgetown, Seaford, and coastal communities can extend options for students farther south.

Before proposing travel, confirm the site type and patient access. A public-health course, a DNP project, and an NP population course require different evidence. The approved-site guide helps separate a convenient organization from one that fits the student's actual course.
