Verify Phoenix Clinical Eligibility Before an Idaho Search

AANP classifies Idaho as Full Practice, reflecting broad authority for qualified NPs under state nursing law. That category is about licensed practice. University of Phoenix makes a separate determination about where its online NP programs meet educational requirements, and Idaho is absent from both current program lists.

Ask the University to answer in writing for the exact FNP or PMH pathway, enrolled catalog, state of residence, intended licensure state, and proposed Idaho clinical site. Until that answer supports the plan, do not ask Boise clinics, Coeur d'Alene practices, or other organizations to reserve a student slot.

The Idaho Board of Nursing provides official nursing regulation and license information. If the University authorizes an Idaho experience, verify the proposed preceptor's legal name, license, advanced practice role, certification, and public status. A directory profile or health-system biography may omit important details.

Phoenix separately checks whether the preceptor and site meet educational standards. A fully licensed Idaho clinician may lack the patient population, experience, schedule, or organizational permission for the course. Both regulatory verification and University approval are needed before clinical activity.

The FNP pathway requires at least 600 supervised hours, divided into four 45-hour population courses and a 420-hour final preceptorship. At least 500 hours must be primary care. The PMH pathway also requires at least 600 hours, with three 60-hour courses and a 420-hour final course plus psychotherapy and age-group minimums.

Each pathway includes a five-day in-person residency in Phoenix, Arizona, near the end of NRP/571. These details help distinguish a complete clinical eligibility response from a general statement about online coursework. Idaho's Full Practice status does not replace any part of this program structure.

Phoenix RN-to-BSN students complete 90 on-site community-health hours, 45 in each of two public-health courses. Acute-care work does not satisfy the requirement, and ordinary paid duties cannot simply be relabeled as clinical. Current Idaho program availability and the proposed site must be confirmed before planning.

DNP learners meet a minimum of 1,000 total practice hours while developing an Applied Project. Approved prior qualifying hours may reduce the remaining requirement. They choose a practice site and External Consultant and work with a Project Chair. Non-NP MSN practicum details vary by concentration and program version.

University of Phoenix describes placement as a partnership. Students are encouraged to send workplace or professional leads to their coordinator. The coordinator assists in securing sites and preceptors, manages approval and affiliation work, and follows up when an approved placement is not ready. Students must maintain communication and complete required clearance items.

For any authorized Idaho experience, the site and preceptor should be submitted before a schedule is promised. Typhon supports approval and the relevant logs and evaluations. A preceptor's verbal willingness does not authorize hours, and an agreement should not be assumed simply because the organization has hosted students before.

FNP and PMH each allow up to 100 telehealth hours under current course rules, with the student physically in the same location as the preceptor. RN-to-BSN allows no more than four direct telehealth hours. These are limited patient-contact formats inside an approved clinical arrangement.

They cannot be used to bypass the University's published Idaho omission. If the University gives written direction for another nursing pathway, we can consider an in-person site or a telehealth-capable setting within the specific rules. No fully remote clinical should be promised.

Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell can form a Treasure Valley search. Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and Twin Falls serve distinct southern and eastern regions. Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, and Moscow create separate northern options. Winter travel and long rural distances should be tested against the weekly course schedule.

Patient fit remains primary. A community-health setting, DNP project organization, FNP practice, and psychiatric site are not interchangeable. Record the exact department, services, preceptor, dates, and travel assumptions before the lead reaches the University.
